Representative of Libya NTC in Egtypt, Mohamed Fayez Jibril, confirmes that the rebels have discovred chimical weapons hiden in to sites in Libya, confirming, however, that Saif Islam Gaddafi, is still inside the country.
Mr Jibril told Echorouk reporter in a phone call from Cairo that the new Libya complies to the resolutions of the UN and the Security Council, as foreign inspectors are due to arrive to the country to deal with the issue of the discovered chemical weapons.
Mr Jibril said : “The Libyans are eager for development and progress rather than chemical weapons.”
He further denied the existence of any armed clashes between the rebels and the residents of Sirte, saying it is about “mere unbased media reports, as the city is calm for now.”
Concerning the rebels who executed the ousted Gaddafi, Mr Jibril confirmed “they are to be introduced to Justice, which is to punish the wrondoers.”
The Libyan official further doubted the existence of direct contacts between Amnesty International and the wanted Saif Islam Gaddafi, and head of Intelligence services in the regime of Gaddafi, Abdellah Snoussi, stressing that “Saif is still in the Libyan territory, and no neigbouring country would accept offering him refuge, because all of them have ratified international treaties and cannot breach them for the sake of him.”
