NTC President had ordered the execution of 32 opponents of Qaddafi

A document of the era of the reign of the late Colonel Gaddafi, directly involves the current president of the Libyan National Transition Council, Mustapha Abdeljalil, in the execution of dozens of judgments against opponents of Gaddafi, when he was Minister of Justice.

The document, of which Ennahar holds a copy, shows how the current president of the NTC, who leads the war against Gaddafi to take his place, was one of his agents and had ordered the executions against prisoners, of whom 32 were executed on his orders. Some were Islamists, opponents of the regime of the colonel, held in the notorious Abu Slim prison.

The document, signed by Mustapha Abdeljalil himself, bears the number 8 / 2311, dated June 26, 2008, and transmitted to the Secretary General of the General People's Committee, relating to criminal proceedings number 120 of 1998 against 187 defendants.

The court, at the June 16, 2008 trial, required the death penalty against 32 defendants, who were shot. Fifty other prisoners were sentenced to life imprisonment and 15 sentences between 5 to 15 years in prison. Only 10 defendants were acquitted.

Abdeljalil, according to the document, insisted that the sentences are carried out, including those on the thirty-two (32) defendants executed.

The case known as the carnage of Abu Slim, had much written by the opposition during the reign of Gaddafi, and the fighters accuse Gaddafi of being behind the killing of their brothers, while they are currently chaired by one of Gaddafi’s man who had ordered, in writing, the execution of those prisoners!
This case raises doubts about the credibility of the national transitional council, when some members have not respected their promises to resign at the fall of the Gaddafi regime and let the people choose those who govern him.
Opponents of the Gaddafi regime had requested that be tried all those involved in the case of Abu Slim massacre against citizens of Benghazi, opponents of Qaddafi, arrested and imprisoned in 2008, when Mr. Mustapha Abdeljalil was Minister of Justice!
